Hi all, today I have a really easy and fun project to share with you. One of our design team themes for this month was birthdays. So I decided to alter a picture frame to hold one of my favorite photos of my daughter on her 5th birthday. The Sweet Shoppe collection fits my little girl's pink-a-licious personality so much - I just love the colors!!!
The frame itself was already painted pink when I found it in the clearance section of Hobby Lobby. It had an decorative wood strip around it, which I removed with a small chisel.
The surface of the frame was covered with Yum patterned paper. Then I used a border punch to cut four strips to fit around the inner opening of the frame. I stitched around the straight edges of the strips then adhered (the stitched edge only) to the frame. To help hold up the scalloped edge and add a little interest I used mini pom-poms under the scalloped edge of the strips.
I cut the cupcake banner pennants from the Sweet Shoppe Crafting Strips. I attached them to another scalloped strip and then adhered them to the frame. Just add a few embellishments and your frame is complete.
Collage Press Supplies:
Patterned paper - Fruity Twists, Yum and Crafting strips (all from the Sweet Shoppe collection) Wonderland (from the Joyride collection)
Other Supplies:
Leaf and Heart Pins - Maya Road
Ribbon - Anna Griffin
Frame and pom-poms - Hobby Lobby
Simply beautiful!
